I don't have the right lense for this kind of shot the lowest I could get my aperture was 3.5, so I took a ton of shots just trying to get something that looked good. These were the best.
This is taken in a south facing window in my living room. There is not much room in here and by the time I got a decent shot the aperture was at 5.6.

This was taken on the patio in the light of the sunset. Unfortunately my subject was not being very co-operative so I was focused on the flowers but I still kind of like it.

Thanks so very much for all I learned about my camera. Maybe, if I keep working at this I'll get some decent pictures. ;>)

Homework week 4
First I want to thank you for the help last time. I finally figured out how to change the focus box. On my camera you can't change it while in manual mode but you can change it in aperture mode, then switch over to manual. I figured this out while trying to address that metering problem which by the way was set at 1.7. Of course this brings me to this weeks lesson.

Homework week 3
I took these pictures of my grandkids up in the hills around my house. It was a really sunny day, and I could not get the meter on my camera to work right. I had to just play around with the aperture until it looked right. I was also having problems getting the focus to be clear. They are all just out of focus. I can't wear my reading glasses while focusing it just makes everything super blurry. These all looked really clear when I took them. I wonder if I should increase the ISO. The camera was sitting on a tree branch for this one

It seems like the more pictures I take the worse they look. Guess I need more practice. ;>)

I was amazed that with all the light put out by this light that the camera didn't pick it up at all.

Homework week 1
Wow what a week! I really had a lot to learn. I didn't have any idea how to shoot in manual with my camera. I had to download the manual for my camera to even get started. And the wind was blowing so hard I couldn't use a tripod.
